Rhyme and Reason: Opening Up seems to be the Hardest Word #PrimeNYT

Bless up from your feet to your head top

we go again,

I am one simple man. I do what I can

Pain of passion, life writhe with despair and torment and the speck of hope life offers is stripped from them; For the sake of others… those who offer true escape are the only ones who can’t escape their own because almighty good has to be paired with a big bad to exist. That’s the pain of passion

When I give and give and get nothing back the emptiness goes on there is no time to take or love to have because the offer is too weak to accept and the thyth is so heavy to pay it you must look in the darkness and pick one person after the other out and in exchange thanks is pitiful and what the universe offers in return is tuppence to the energy expended the time sacrificed and the suffering lived through.

What is there really what time, what energy, what sustenance can be given for the things one man can live through that is unmatched by others. All worldly escapes are poisonous and all Godly rewards are honorary so why should one man ask of something he never sought relief from, why should one man look for release in something that is outside of him.

when I wrote Pain of passion, I was in a serious place. It was also one of the first time I wrote an idea down I was feeling fresh from my head to the page. Now it’s a milestone, I had more ideas but that one done something.

Fast forward early January 2019 I lived through trauma once again but only now I decided to write about it. The best good I can do through life wrought with despair and torment is offer the speck of hope in life where I had none. It was stripped from me but I lived so I live for the sake of others… to those that seek some sort of refuge.

The game I play by myself in this world can only be called forgiveness and freedom what wonderment it offers those around me and how long can I be tied to it’s tether. I ask myself that daily I receive no answers but the gifts I expend I can’t run away from.

To work for my solemn gain is to work selfishly and it’s not in my spirit to do so. I work for others as a symptom of the contract on my life and that is tied by blood and the only way to break it is death, all alone in my mission but around those who could only take and never help daily, encased in the prism of perspective unable to touch unable to take and I have to be okay.

The full education is in can I withstand what I learn about myself in my 20’s to even live through to see the fruits of my bargain. What a beautiful conundrum

Stay composed and keep your neck up

Culture and Camaraderie – I have started a podcast

Hello Comrades,

MAILING LIST

It’s been a long time coming and it came at the right time. I am so enthusiastic about this to the extent where I am visibly elated with this step Ive taken into making my platform audio. Podcast:Too Deep for a First Episode

Pick an episode and enjoy from our DSPs

I have really been taking my time and been attentive to other peoples thoughts asking me to create something like this, I just know it had to be at the right time. Many people have approached me with the idea of making a podcast but none of them showed the execution of really wanting to do it, intro Tyler.

Tyler is an old school buddy who has known me for the better part of ten years, loves my works and thoughts and asked if I wanted to execute. my answer is always yes but the ability to move forward was in his hands. this is the first episode of many in my production of audio content and I am super happy with this first iteration

We spoke about a couple things in the culture but my main thing is never really to talk about other people and put my opinions out there like that, where its really my need to have real genuine conversations about artist what we go through and how I get through it. Including couple of subjects in the Zeitgeist and ultimately our understanding about artist and opinions on how artists are perceived and how we impact culture which lead us to Tyler perry’s speech that we both agreed meant everything and was always the goal

Just like my A Note, Thought, Dialogue series its  best had as an open forum. when I first made the statement culture and camaraderie it was about me thinking about the life of an artist and the ideal of creative collaboration, friendship, nakama, kinship. The words that describe the warmth of togetherness, the campfire of a social setting and a lighthouse for likemindedness.

I hope you love it

The Principle of the Housing Problem in the Millennial World

We Go Again,

I begrudgingly listen to my peers on things they have to say concerning ways of life they did not invent and try to decipher what it truly means to them. Today I was told that a house and a car is, a stable future & a priority & a pillar of strength and manliness.

I don’t worry that this is how people think, I don’t care what people’s philosophies are because part of mine is do good for humans. I care what people are programmed to think do to a complex, in built, societal norm that was invented for people who can’t think for themselves to accept such if they can’t find a better way of thinking.

That’s what a societal norm is. It’s the dogma of the average and don’t want to think for themselves. Why do I think this pursuit for a house is part of this? Mainly because I get freaked out when people blurt our the same quote but paraphrase it. I can’t lie that’s incredibly scary to me and feel of sorts. I can’t judge and don’t want to take away something from someone who’s clearly not thinking for themselves and I have no real intention of replacing how they think.

As a leader one must lead in a way apart from people, the achievements of the average/the masses are footnotes. That’s not to make anyone feel a type of way I just don’t feel the same way as this it doesn’t mesh with my philosophical or economic belief.

It’s much like the always there conversation I had years ago. What wrong with taking a year out understanding what you want from you and executing that instead we collate the sacrifice of Youth to adult ideas that were only made in the past century and are not the type of ideas that were meant to last. We’re worried about the wrong things, not existentially but in principle.

There’s no life principle or in your history that says having a house or car or 10 acres of land can change you or your families life. If that were true those of us making the worlds top 20% wage minimum of $30,000 would have bought the land in our village by now.

A house doesn’t mean a better life for your children. Even building the economy doesn’t do that, if you want to be part of the money making machines just say so. But trapping yourself into debt and mortgage payment does not free yourself, isn’t the remark of a free person and doesn’t make you seem better to your kids. Especially if at any point a recession hit and you aren’t ready, your direct debit goes up and you’re back up grinding on your knees. Nothing is wrong with any of that if it’s truly what you want you’d do it with a smile and no one could critique you for it.

An intro to Erollson Hughes Acronym

We go again,

The guy behind Nike ACG menswear and what the streets would call the AF1 Abomination and the great redeemer Acronym Presto and what I will call the father of origami jackets. Errolson Hughs

Who is Acronym?

acronym-fw-1516-15

Acronym started out as a contract design firm who made their seed money designing gear for extreme sports and branched our to a personal design company in 1999 to make their own gear developed in house. 2002 Acronym was set on to the scene making products for years before cross pollination.

With their outerwear aesthetic Michaela and Errolson have been slowly building a credible brand who has an amazing aesthetic with prices not for the light pocketed. Kickass code names and well made app areal for those who are really out here appreciating the samurai Techwear look

Industrial Techwear

The ideal behind these pieces are just so incredible. I’m a lover of industrial design and will continue to analyse and adore the creation fabric and contortion of materials. Learning all about plastics and how they can be moulded into becoming weather proof is something I hold in high regard; each thing being made out of plastic but the polymer constitution changes its properties.

Nike ACG

IMG_4022

What I know Errolson for the most for is the Nike ACG collaboration before I knew any details I saw him in the most well constructed garments I’ve seen made for a man. The ACG collaborations with Nike have been the most creative thing industrially I think Johanna has something to do with why this — spawning the morphing of the AirMax 180 and 270 for people to create their own versions (more of my thoughts on this later). — The well constructed garments are a wonder to look at the sliding pockets shell form zips Male the silhouettes minimal but are made with the most complex techniques. Whoever has been steering this Techwear ship at Nike in the past 3/4 years well done.

Air Force 1 and Presto

The sneakers have been a contentious for the AF1 the Acronym team kind of destroyed the detailing and added a zipper but it slowly became a grailed Force one. The Presto though, straight away it was loved and adored from my purview and grew as a cornerstone of Techwear functional technical and full of utility.

Editors Note

Errolson Hugh’s has had a great team around him all the way through forged their own path and created a 20 year old company with such a high value now I adore the ability to make something of that level.

The Renaissance of Techwear is here and soon will be the most prominent form of menswear design due to its technical construction

A Note On: Articulating Yourself is a Worthy Goal

We Go Again,

When I was 15 we had a family meeting. About me.

It was about my incapability to articulate myself, I said to them, (my family) that if I were to learn to start speaking my mind to them they would not like me very much.

Ten years later that reigned true, i reached a singularity within myself and was able to say what I feel whenever I felt it (at the most poignant time).

That was the single most important moment in my life (as it came to invoking the word) because learning to articulate myself as a human being meant I was not only facing inwards and asking myself tough questions about my reality and person but I’m able to do so when it calls for it from my family to my mentee and everyone else who needs it.

I’ve noticed whatever advice that was which I took on when it came to saying how I feel there are people older and younger who are unable to do so for whatever reason.

I guess I’m writing this to give whoever needs it permission because it is the best advice I took on. It took me 10 years and 100+ books, I feel something that it would not take anyone else that much time; just go for it. I don’t see a worthier goal to go for than learning about yourself and being able to articulate it to others.

Urahara Sanin — Undercover Japan – The most creative long lasting brand that is not a household name

We go again,

Intro

I have viewed undercover for so many years now watching from afar because my bank balance has not been able to touch it not could I justify it if I had said money. You could not tell me Jun Takahasi Nike React wasn’t top 2 Sneakers of 2018 I am pleased to see people really gel with the brand today as the link between London and japan wasn’t all that strong. We’ve had Yohji and Rei holding on by a tether but when it comes to past their discovery you really need to be an insider to know what undercover is.

A brief history of Undercover

I see the visions of undercover because some of the value it holds is just so closely related to Britain. I can see the influence of Rei Kawakubo and Vivienne Westwood ooze from Juns work; so much so it attracted Americans like Kanye and Pharrell into the fold of bridging the gap of the cultures because when it comes to Japanese denim it’s hard for me to find a second place the long lasting supple cotton is really where it’s at.

Jun started selling like hot cakes with, redone tees and retro fits at vendors from the like of milkboy and Billy’s in Harajuku.

The streetwear aesthetic is probably the reason why it’s taken so long for Undercover to be recognised, the Make shift aesthetic of the brand identity. The real British make do and mend along with the strong Japanese construction and proven nature of the clothes.

The clincher was Jun working alongside Nigo as a team they opened their now famous store, (which I hope to visit some day) NOWHERE in Tokyo being backed like a guy like Hiroshi Fujiwara it’s astonishing how streetwear bought round titans like these together in the golden age of Japanese streetwear while Europe was going through its anti fashion stage. His Street Punk style in Japan is so famous it would influence clothing design in anime and

Undercover cult

The fan base of undercover is strong and always there i get the Rick Owens Cult fanbase vibes all the way. Those who know about Undercover will y’all about it emphatically like a fanatic. The Street Punk style is something I can see a mile off; much like Rick Owens he is an unnamed staple in fashion, outside of the fashion world; — if you know fashion you know who he is if you don’t you won’t. But you will probably dress something like he’s made or love his style if you love streetwear.

Your favourite designer may suckle from the teet of his groundwork from 30 years ago

Final thoughts

I would say undercover is the embodiment of what the industry standard for a fashion house is continuing on with the theme of the ethos/ founding principles; exploring but not venturing off into domain that is outside of its character; collaborating on the brand identity and not for the money —this could be said to be to Juns Detriment but with me having such a long lasting fashion house who stands on the integrity of the reason it started 30 years ago and still getting collaborations with Nike, showing in Paris & working with Pitti Uomo is a testament that as a designer and storyteller you can thrive.

A Note On Sickle Cell: Dark culture of Genetics — Suffered by Sickle Cell Patients

Fact or Feeling

I have been hearing the most abhorrent rhetoric around the past year about the African relationship to sickle cell and even further the black diaspora’s “learned” relationship to how best ‘combat‘ the pain. None of it has been relevant to the conversation. People have been speaking about Marriage and relationships and a bunch of Eugenics that give me the Heebie jeebies.

Eugenics is a big part of the black community because when we were treated like cattle that’s how they reared us. A big strong male would procreate with a strong female and they’d make “physically superior genetics”. In doing this generations have passed and we have the American Black — and I feel it’s engrained into our psyche to treat each other like animals trying to up our stock in a genetic pool — Epigenetic’s.

What does this have to do with Sickle Cell ?

People have been treating the mutation like it can be avoided by simply not starting families with people who may have the compatibility to make another child with Sickle Cell. Doesn’t matter how much you could love this person, you believe “in good conscious” you cannot start a family with this person.

This turns me off a whole bunch, these things are not so easy to “avoid” or amend. Haemoglobin S was a mutation to combat malaria millennia ago. Considering that when we look at the numbers half the black population in the UK carry the gene or can carry on the gene. In America there are about 100,000 people who deal with the Mutation, when we think about propagation and distribution this number can double, some things aren’t as easy as people make out.

I want to use an example of our people that’s incredibly more sensitive to say. I would not hear someone say out loud ‘Don’t Marry someone with albinism if you don’t want pale Ebony children’ you would never hear that because it’s ludicrous. Albinism is a natural rare occurrence that happens to black people and they should be respected as human and just as black as the next person. I wouldn’t hear the same with diabetes or High blood pressure or Heart disease, these are real things we have to deal with right now.

The Stigma for Sickle Cell is worlds apart it seem, people have a certain way of coping with diabetes or High Blood Pressure maybe because it happens later in life and in that it’s put off – or maybe you don’t think it could happen to you. – I just see this strange play on the community made out like it’s possible to be rid of something with 5000 years of lineage in a couple of generations.

If you get into the science of it there’s something off about you disguising something selfish and painting it as something altruistic. There’s so much dark psychology buried in here that it would be very hard for me to unpack in a singular Essay, I want to keep this novel and hope the point gets across.

But there’s no science in if you avoid dating someone with compatible genetic make-up you will “defeat the scourge of sickle cell”, no

What can we do as a people?

I want to just say, if you decide you want a relationship with someone and they happen to have Sickle Cell there are just some thing’s you’ll have to deal with and there are points in your time together you’re going to need a strong constitution and not everyone has that and there’s nothin wrong with admitting that. However if you do keep it together because often times people with HaemS stay strong for their partners but we definitely need support at times like any other relationship that happens to go on and as thanks we give support when we’re healthy. On God there are times it won’t be easy so if you say ‘I don’t want the stress’ or you don’t think you could deal with someone you love in pain (at certain times) then yes obviously have the right to do so.

May the spirit of Allah be on the healthiness of your offspring, however if your child was born will an inalienable condition like Cerebral-Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis, fibrosis, Scoliosis you would not say, people who have such conditions which run in their family shouldn’t marry your child as to not make more children with that condition. I feel like this line of thinking is a very slippery slope and if you want a kid and they are born with a condition I hope that you have the wherewithal to bring from within yourself the right substance to raise that child like a true parent.

Another problem I have is the abortion of kids where you discover prenatally they have a condition — the presupposition being you want a kid — and you choose to abort that child. This is such a moralistic debate that I cannot with my whole spirit bring myself to have such conversations about humanity in text. That is between you your God and your Consciousness.

I don’t say this for me, I say this for all the stories I’ve heard about people who loved each other and were going to get married and beautiful black men and women who so terrible want to be in relationships with a great person well suited for them and they make such a cold and callous decision because of genetic marker.
