OYOS — Blue Collar Work Ethic, White Collar Education — How I collect the Right Information and you can do it too

We go again,

I wouldn’t know how to explain it any differently. But I will try and expound on what I mean, the lengths I’ve gone to to get an education have been extreme almost dying and coming back many times because that’s just how I was raised.

Since I was a teenager I knew I would have to work incredibly differently than my peers, I didn’t know how differently. In honesty a big part of me educating myself came from dark places. 90% of my formative years educating myself was from a sick bed learning the thing that was going to get me the grade while doing the thing that would get me the grade because that’s just how I was raised

Life has seen me differently in the past couple of years I’ve had to put in more work finding the right information than actually learning it. Learning is no longer an issue for a brain used to consuming information it’s the quality of information that is important. Right now the internet is like a rainforest full of all manner of things most poisonous and some delectable. Those are the risks I take for an education because that’s just how I was raised.

I enjoy learning I was told from young it will get me places, but no one ever tells you the risks in finding out the right information, sometimes that can still burn like arsenic… information really changes situation, it’s changed my lifewhat we think we know isn’t always the truth and sometimes it feels like people would it be that way – how incredibly sad.

What do I do to avoid putting strychnine in my coffee instead of sugar? but if it wasn’t for the way I was raised I would not be the type to have handled it as well as I do.

I say this because the amount of information that is shared that just happens to be false, falsified or misleading or misguided is exorbitant. I’ve dedicated a bulk of my life to academia being in bed library hospital or in the classroom and whist I have been out of the educational sphere I find most of the information is guided under lock and key in each industries individual jargon. The jungle of information continue to mask the right information and strychnine is masked as fruit trees, what we think we know isn’t always the truth and sometimes it feels like people would rather it be that way – how incredibly sad.

What do I do to avoid putting strychnine in my coffee instead of sugar? I work on my investigative skills and I do as the scientist and mathematicians do. I ask an array of questions on a subject and I answer them with research to prove or disprove my hypothesis, it’s as simple or as complex as that. I remove my bias and go for the right information because it’s needed and not because I want to feel right but because there are too many people out here spreading the wrong information

It is not easy to find the right information without a great deal of information so you follow someone’s teachings and stick to their own circle of influence reinforcing their beliefs within their space, which works when you want a lifestyle tribe but doesn’t scale worldwide, it’s all blessed if you want to think what you think, possibly. If it’s not hurting people, maybe. But I like knowing what I know can be proven.

A Dialogue On: Music and The beacon of beneficence — Muse Part Two

We go again

When last we spoke about muses it was about the way they affect artist. Like an introduction to musery, some wouldn’t get it if you aren’t one with that level of creative energy but something everyone can get behind is music. And how these sound waves correlate to you acting in a certain way.

Music can bring forth emotion help you get over real things like break ups heartaches even anxiety and suicide.

Muses in this regard XXXTENTACION grabbed a generation with his potent sound once filled with angst mellowed out and saved souls from leaving this world although his leaving was tragic what he done for his fans was a showing of how music can move you to act.

There’s positives and negatives of that some people blame rap music for crime and have been doin so for 30 years I will never give into these thoughts what is there for me is when listening to the melodies of ladies who are really feeling something like Beyoncé on Lemonade Solange on A seat at the table Lauryn Hill on the Miseducation I as a man of art move in a way that’s like no other.

I learn when I listen to these women talk I understand what they’re feeling and never want to afflict that on someone else (which is a personal creed) not everyone listens to music lyrics that way. For me music is beyond entertainment and I rarely rock out to songs made for the club you will find me rocking out to Nights by Frank Ocean or Baby boy by Childish Gambino before a lot more other songs that are out there. That’s not me trying to be different that’s me knowing the difference in substance that artist try to manifest in the infinite space.

artist with the intention to do good by the audience like Kendrick and Chance hold more stock in my playlist than others because the amount of creativity it takes to produce high quality music that means something to the listener while having maximum replay value is incredibly high and is not without its drawbacks so I support those that make not only the effort but execute it.

I support because – since I was young – while I work – I listen to music – it aides in my creation process. With these people that preach substance I bring my substance to the surface and impress it on the page in either a poem or a drawing. Creating art is how I express myself in a way I wouldn’t rather. In a way hearing others be vulnerable enables me to be more vulnerable by proxy; if they can do it so can I mentality.

Music can help bring forth every feeling but when I say music I mean the vocals, lyrics, relevance, drums, chord progressions, breakdown, sequencing a game of all parts I can’t rock with it unless it’s put to the test on all angles, ever since I started listening to Black and White by Wretch 32 in school it was part of the way I listened. I didn’t have bests or favourites but everything can get rated on the system, since that time I’ve been creating my foundation of what a body of work can be; from the Legendary to the mediocre.

With that I apply it to myself. See with music I take myself to different heights there’s only so much you can do without breaking the boundaries of what is listenable but when you talk about visual creation you can create something that has never been seen before whether it will last is another question it’s the fact that question is able to be posed that it inspires. Remember what I said about muses the exchange is the important part because you have to be able to live with this person for a long time their presence does so many things to you now imagine this persons presence and skill equals you in every way and has made something with talent and execution that is still being used to this day — Stevie Wonder Songs In the Key of Life — a heavily sampled album and arguably one of the best bodies of work made by a modern artist. In so many ways it will live on and isn’t that so amazing ? Isn’t that so A Musing ? It’s A Muse Ting. Fully something that can fill you up so you can overflow the creativity, bringing you to your limits best engaging the you that’s beyond the emotions you know to the ones you don’t.

A muse on the same level of creativity as you can help you surpass your limits further than you knew before the scene was ready. Not saying I or anyone else should chase their Magnum Opus or a Classic. Your principles do that. Your creativity can manifest things beyond your time and consciousness of today by invoking the level of creativity that is left when you have done all you can do.

Sounds weird but I’ve been there, beyond the flow state the white water rapids beyond time dilation the empty space where new things can be made. The infinite. How you achieve that is up to you my life has been treacherous and tempestuous so the deep dark abyss is my friend and we explore beyond the beyond together.

‪A Dialogue on: Finding Your Style – the man makes the clothes not the other way around‬

Finding Your Style

The man makes the clothes not the other way around

We go again,

I have committed to the honour of someone who cares about style. It’s really been a part of me for as long as I’ve known. There are Two things I will always Remember;

1) You look the part you act the part

2) The man makes the clothes

These two comments have reigned true for my entire understanding of clothes, perception, style, confidence, fashion, luxury & attitude. Depending on what I wear I get treated a certain type of way, respect and esteem is earned depending on amount of thought is put into an outfit and amount of style one exudes while wearing it. That’s said for a person who knows what he’s doing when he’s building a catalog and developing a wardrobe fit for his style.

Dress like a man act like a man

This and many other variations of the phrase were told to me as a young man starting secondary school, in a Church of England you rise when a senior staff member comes in the room; have your tie straight; your blazer clean; and sit when told. This way of learning respect for elders was instilled in me with a passion, when you tie it in to everything else you learn about being a man it’s uncompromising and unwavering. Simply made sense, so who was I to question? Great question, the answer is – Not Your Typical, that’s who I am.

When I realised this was a big deal was when I would wear an Anorak with a big scarf and my hood on in a cold autumns day on the way to gymnastics and the difference in the way I was treated in my suit and in my anorak. Noticing the attire makes the perception and the attitude amplifies it. One of the only ways to not get treated like a criminal now and in the earlier days was dress as formal as possible for a man in a suit is not suspect of crimes. This is when I learned clothes have meaning, you dress a certain way it says something about you. (This incident was one that happened pre the luxury hoodie)

Looks stylish, he is stylish

‘A man of composure and confidence is a man that knows who he is and where he’s heading’

When you’re somewhat stylish people smell that on you, why? Because when a man is concerned with the finer details of the garments he decides to wear; each things has purpose and ties what he’s wearing together it set off an array of signals which say. That guy knows what he’s doing & the way you walk and the way you carry yourself follows soon after.

Having composure in your attitude and confidence in who you are as a person, has people believe what you want them to believe about you whether you’re wearing a t-shirt or a button-up the way the outfit is pieced together is the point not the individual pieces but the harmony and cohesiveness of the outfit from colour to detailing to cut and fit addressing all of these in an outfit pours into everything else you do.

Wear your clothes – don’t have them wear you

There is no shortcut to this style game. Essential Style is the first hurdle, Essential Style is what you gather when you have no money in the bank but you make things work anyway.

You’re able to pieces together what you want from simpler items , having your fit cost less that £200 but have you feeling more than a Thousand — but that’s only if you let it have you feel that way. Unless you create clothes and want to understand the difference between expensive fabric or the highest grade fabric and the cheaper more unrefined fabric (which takes years of testing) that is only when one could say this garment is not for me.

Whatever garments you do wear there should be an understanding of where it came from and what it represents which is why labels and brand names became so important, how you can tell the difference in a garment that’s machine made; made in a sweat shop; or hand sewn. Whichever of those represents you the best should inspire you to wear those.

The garments you buy are yours they represent you so in buying one you feel confident in the quality and what the label stands for so you should be your most confident within it, if you’re not confident one of the two is misaligned and you’re buying something frivolously

There is no shortcuts

people can try to buy all the the most expensive in season pieces and still find a way to look corny in a fit costing upwards of £5000. All because they never addressed essential style does what I’m wearing go together is what I’m wearing really what I want to have on my body? Is what I’m wearing representative of how I like to be seen?/ how I feel? Those questions left unanswered are all of the corny guys on Instagram wearing expensive fits but nothing looks good it’s all hype not high! No taste, will have you looking like a flop but hubris can carry you all the way.

Don’t let your clothes wear you

This in itself is a sin. As men we have only but so many clothing options so having your clothes eat you up like a Venus fly trap and getting the dreaded ‘it doesn’t suit you like that’ or ‘I like I but just not you in it’ outside of the gracious ‘you look good’ or ‘you’re really killing it’ is a carnal sin. Ever saw another person wear the exact same thing and it look better on them? I haven’t, I couldn’t even think it. I wear it, I feel my best. I wouldn’t wear something because it’s expensive or because someone asked me to. It’s dreadful, I’ve been dressing myself since I was seven other people telling me what I can and can’t wear makes me sick – so I learned exactly what needs be for it to never occur – I never want my girlfriend to think something looks better on another man that I myself wore. Heartbreak. But that doesn’t need to be you, you could have your values in a different place. For me and my level of commitment my clothes are for me – soon to be by me – and my style exists to please me.
