Your First Suit – what you want and what you don’t want for your first interview [Mens Style]

We go again,

As a man your first suit means a lot, not the first wedding attire, not the tux I’m talking about the real deal, genuine first ‘let’s go to work’ suit.

I remember my first suit fondly I pieced it together for business school. But there was nothing like my first power suit I wore to my first Job American fit stuff collar straight blue and white combo with a blue power tie and black monk shoes, I was really ready for business.

All in that combination without my briefcase or watch cost me £250, jade me want to throw up but at the end of the interview I got the job. See I was the most confident I’ve ever been because I spent the most money I ever had.

It gave me something, I felt clean I felt alive and I came ready to get the job because I needed money to make back what I had spent on my business clothes.

The suit bought me a new lustre that’s what a suit is supposed to be, the jacket shirt shoes tie everything else is extra picking the one that makes you feel confident is most key.

Tailored or shiny it don’t matter, how you feel and how you rock it is what matters

OYOS Acres Of Diamonds

You live in your acres of diamonds

The only reason I’ve ever done as good as I have is by this one thought and philosophical context. However it goes never search too far outside yourself as what you desire might be in a place most familiar. The type of thoughts that run through my mind when people say; ‘maybe I should move out my city.’ Or ‘you could make more money doing this’.

It has been a tale that has been told time and time again that I always have the skills I need at my disposal. I don’t know if I was born talented or super smart but I do know where my strengths lie. My words, my creativity, my vision. Something that uses anyone of those is where my acres of diamonds lay, I have created opportunity after opportunity for myself using/displaying less than 20% of my capabilities. I often think to myself what if I dedicated myself to one specific area how would I feel, where would I bee if I did that for years on end, however I still have it in my mind all my gifts are mine to use and to continue using because they are the gifts granted to me. It really humbles me when I find some people don’t have any or don’t know what their purpose is. It give me more drive to move towards my purpose and create more opportunities for myself so I can soon grant opportunities for others. That is my true work thing ‘work so hard at my jobs so I can create more jobs’ and anything That will allow me to do that I will.

Back to what you have even though It’s minimal you can always do something. I remember when I was dead broke literally no money and my computer broke, all I had was a Mickey Mouse pencil and a couple felt tip pens. This led me to start my fashion Illustration career which I still practice and commission to this day, even though I’m a photoshop guy I decided to use spare paper around the house to hone my manual skills. I remember being broke in university and the only thing I had in my cabinet was corned beef, I whipped that up into gourmet level meal … yeah I said it … GORMET! Remember having no new Ideas and being in-between jobs, all I had was a lawn mower I decided to go round to all my neighbour and ask if they need their grass cut, this particular hustle earned me thousands.

At my ropes end I find I am at my most ingenuous creating some sort of creative endeavour to pursue. Not just in the creative arts but in sales/ online advertising and project development. When you’re at your most scrappy and enthusiastic negativity finds itself out of your way allowing you to open another opportunity. I know for me and my awkward life I have been down roads that I didn’t think would lead me to money or any type of success. As a creative I do what I’m passionate about and the little I need finds its way to me, the will be a time when I find myself in surplus! I feel it in my spirit and theres no way I won’t allow it to happen so I move towards it everyday – Because I need to – I have to – theres no way I cannot.

Creating opportunities is what I do best, I will always want to because it feels right find your own acres of diamonds where you sit right now its definitely there it just needs a little digging and refining. Opportunity waits for no man however when you’re feeling noble and honest within yourself True opportunity was always yours to begin with. It was just waiting for you to grab it.

The Culture of the 20’s

This in part is my true artistic sentiment. The essence of the quality I see coming to fruition after long and time consuming study this is an observation from a creative.

The times we live in lends itself to the democratisation of celebrity (a topic I think much on) and it’s ability to create micro communities round certain outspoken people. Where there’s no longer Hollywood & the media telling the culture what is in. This is such a powerful thing after watching it grow and progress the past four years I see how the internet as we know it really does not even know what it is or wants to be and it is truly in its infancy. Telling me just as Hollywood when moving pictures were a thing and cabaret was all they could make this is the age that we also have to deal with. Hundreds of people will loads of micro talents getting it how they live – by no means is this a bad thing – those that capitalise properly with honest gifts will stay in their well earned positions.

I’ve got it into my head that the Twenties [2020] will be a Renaissance for Millenials. Religious paintings exchanged for hyperrealism, debutants exchanged for beauty and fashion influencers, villages move from real life to for group chats about our favourite celeb sensation. As we get into more senior positions, and we start putting things into programming that we enjoy there will be a true story told of this show and prove nature. Many micro communities believe their story is the right story to tell and everyone is trying to get it there is no mistaking anymore talent is everywhere on every block. It just hasn’t had the light to shine yet. Everybody has at least one story; the greats have many & the super creatives never cease to amaze. So where will the hot spot of the twenties be, where will our new Hollywood and new Silicon Valley be situated. There is enough room for everybody but there is no faking when the cream rises to the top.

When I think about This West African Art Revolution as well as Afrofuturism and These Korean Pop/Fashion sensation that seems to be sweeping western society -to name a couple – I can only thank the Internet and the Bogarde of information being lifted. America has had a true monopoly and I don’t see it lasting into the 30’s wherever the next great migration of talent will be that place in the early days will be teaming with talent trying to make their mark and being ready for their one true leader to take form.
I have so many predictions on how it will take form and maybe I’ll share them. For now though I just want this to serve as a footnote of me noticing it’s happening and others to become as aware as I of the fruits our generation is about to bear. There’s something so beautiful about this time, it’s better for me to just live in the now.

What will our Paris in the 20’s be like
