A Dialogue On: The culture of the 20’s 2

Bless Up from your feet to your head top

We Go Again,

MAILING LIST

I’ve established many times what I have thought about the 20’s for so long I haven’t been looking to many people individually to make up the greatness of the 20’s but with Black Renaissance: Future History there are some names in there who’s paths I see myself crossing.

I see the opportunity for greatness right there for me, I have been told for the majority of my life there’s greatness there. It never took, I always searched within myself to see if a human good enough existed to create wellness for all, as that’s all I have ever wanted.

So many people have the opportunity to be great during this moment, the time we have in front of us is paramount, many of the people in their 20’s in the twenties have the chance to make a real name for themselves and create their own opportunity and life and own their careers if they truly are about it.

This is the thing we all have to take this time period serious. And accept what we see infront of us with open arms because the chance to be great is right there. So is the work though, so many people are scared of the work. Not even just the big picture vision, like me so many people are annoyed and feel put off by the little things you have to drop for the greatness.

Normality is a ditch, a warm and cozy one. You have walls the warmth of the hive mind and the unattainable sky to look to but never grasp because it’s so out of reach. And in greatness we have to dig deep and dig far, look crazy in the process because the ditch of normalcy is so cozy what’s the point in going further down. But us who know there has got to be something down there when you dig further down only so you can go up the long way. In doing that you look completely crazy to the Normal crowd but you’ve got to know deep in you having the normal things isn’t all there is to life.

Not Your Typical: Break The Curse of Perfectionism and offer Your Best

Bless up from your feet to your head top

As I release my book and reflect on the 200 articles I’ve wrote this year I think back to the paralysing thoughts I would have as a young artist. The thoughts of perfectionism and my lack of belief in a product. I see how far I’ve come with my most recent iteration of my philosophy Grinding and Hacking — it has nothing to do with perfectionism even in more recent times I’ve not spoke about doing the perfect piece of art I talk about working to your highest level. And part of elite mentality and being a high performer is just that.

Do Your Best at the Level You’re at

It derives from knowing that you are indeed good enough and the level of work you’re doing is great and it’s to a substantial level where you understand what makes a piece of work great under your lens, don’t work to the level you see out there work to the best level you know you have in this moment and because you have it your all etch that into society and show it off because no matter what anyone says you should be proud of what you done for you. This way you can have the position to look back at what you gave the world in finished work and not what you gave yourself in the headache of perfectionism.

Break away from Perfectionism

You see I was a serial perfectionist. Then I was a minimal effort guy when it came to producing. I didn’t care about putting out work or my own personal success (for many reasons) but when I decided I wanted to live great and produce great work, I started putting out work with my best efforts.

That brings me today where I have indeed tried my best out my best efforts out there in totality with all my skills from creating to promoting & aesthetics of campaign I have marked what my level is today.

I’ve left very little on the table in terms of quality and quantity so now it’s time to carry that level on at least, draw in more people and make more great things because I can. It’s my obligation and duty and I am very dedicated to the pursuit of this.

I’m here today as a man who has a book and a website full of theories and thesis’, a catalogue made for longevity and not immediate gratification as that’s what my principles call for.

I’m here for more

I hope you get that.

NYTYPICAL: Grinding and Hacking — Peak Performance of Moving Pieces #PrimeNYT

Bless up from your feet to your head top

We go again

I am sitting here, it’s 6am and I haven’t slept. I am toiling away at my next big campaign I’ve got to get done for black history month and find myself in a bind. Stuck between the ideal ‘if you can get it done now don’t wait till tomorrow’ & ‘don’t steal from your future self.’…

I am wondering how much sleep am I stealing from my future self who has to get a podcast done and how much of the work that needs to get done should I do now so I feel comfortable to go to bed? And is it even reasonable to be up at this time and will I be giving 100% although I got struck with a concept at this time I want to execute and not lose the spark to do it.

The point is dealing with the things you’ve got in front of you as they need to be done. I have given it to myself, yes. I’m going to lose a lot of sleep, yes it’s for a just cause and yes I’m okay with it.

That being said what can I give to you all right now. Is my understanding of Grinding and hacking,

Hacking

This is the understand of task managing and project execution. It’s my big boy idea of scope and point execution. Hacking would be considered doing a blog like this

It’s about giving yourself those points of reference to complete something to help your business move so you hack away at those big monthly and yearly goals with force and speed.

The point isn’t just about order of magnitude, to me most tasks demand the same urgency. This is about actionable items that would put money in your pocket or expand your base. The point is to have done all your big concepts so you alleviate the pressure of performance.

When you hack away at big concepts by chopping off a steak like substance or cutting a log of wood like a lumberjack you can move on to the more finesse type jobs.

Grinding

This is where we get grinding the menial day to day minutia. This is just as important as hacking away at a big idea this is format and creating structure as well as admin and dissemination. Real labour of love work.

Grinding is something like doing the cover art for a blog like this, rereading the article posting it at the right time and sharing it on all social platforms so people see it as well as doing the copy. All massive jobs, without the hacking I’d be unable to perform at this level.

Once you have things like the big concept sorted the presentation is everything. I will use all my skill to present any blog article that I do right. Curating my content is so important. Much again like the lumberjack, once you cut down the tree you have to remove the bark and if you want to make paper you have to transport it to the mill. Grinding

Grinding is meant to be day by day while hacking should be a bi weekly or monthly thing structured in a way that proposes synergy and order. You give each type a purpose and you can create a workflow best suited to you as to know you’re not scrambling. What you want is the ability to create order and streamline your process it’s not about the individual pieces but how they serve the whole when you remove order of magnitude you introduce performance pieces where each moving part has a purpose.

I hope you get that.

OYOS: A Year Completed, I love Life, God has given me more — The Movement of My Dial

Peace Blessings and Salutations

We go again,

The past year has been full of pain, terror anguish and anxiety. My success has also been incompatible to any other year prior. This is what I learned from it, don’t let what is done to you cripple you, don’t dwell on the defeat of a comrade or the loss of a loved one too long. The spirit of greatness stays and always remember the good as it is and don’t have it tainted jade or glazed over by the the spirit of nostalgia. What’s good is good and what’s done is done.

My life has been littered with pain and in my early 20’s it crippled me. I had to cut out the tumour cauterise the wound and live to fight another day, last year I decided I was ready to fight again and in that I have come by some amazing things

My writing is beloved and exalted by those who read it the message is conveyed and they understand my theories and what I have to offer the world. It’s quite astounding

I have performed at the highest level I ever have doing anything on any level. The only thing that comes close is my world building but even that doesn’t come close to the 150 articles I’ve wrote this year

This year I became an upstanding member of my community offering my help to those that need it and helped the kids that needed the information I had to offer.

My peers see what I do with astonishment and pizzazz, they beckon me to be a co-producer on the productions due to the skill and execution I use on my productions.

Ive created a fair few writing brands under the banner of NYTYPICAL along with the critically regarded Sickle Cell Companion used in hospitals by nurses.

So to say, I am an upstanding member of my community doing everything I can in my power I could do, even on 60% strength on average. That is something I can be proud of. I can do that much service as a whole while serving my career.

This is what I want to continue in more ways furthering to heights no one knew were possible.

This is the Movement of my Dial

A Note On: One Year On From Starting my website #PrimeNYT

Bless Up from your feet to your head top

We go again

It’s even been a year since I started writing articles. And 5 months since I took it seriously, bits been one heck of a journey like seriously I never thought a year later I would have a podcast or writing releasing my books and it’s all because I started this website.

Having this website to express myself is what allowed me to flex that muscle and really be one with my creative process. From the concept and planning of an idea and being able to flesh out an idea in word format all the way to presenting it for people once the idea is done to the state I appreciate.

I have recently started my podcast and my talking ability may be high but it’s not all the way where I want it but when it comes to writing a concept down and going through the process of editing and fleshing it out I have a real good idea of how to do that. Translating that into orator skills is my podcast job and just in there as I do here. I am just honestly thankful I went down this path.

I’m pleased to see how this grows, I haven’t been talking about the most zeitgeist things but I have been talking about things that are important to me and its amazing to see they’re important to others.

Talking about contemporary designers principles design ethics mindset and all that isn’t as sexy as all the mainstream outlets would have you believe but they are very important. I talk about designers that get little press but are positively amazing my most inspiring posts have been about Yoon of Ambush and Kerbie of Pyer Moss (who’ll I’ll be writing more on.); who have been read on mystic mortises than any designer, which makes me proud. I had a genuine interest in their greatness and it spread.

Thats the type of energy ~I hope to bring light to contemporary designers and better understanding of what it means to be an artist and have a philosophy. Those code’s will forever be shared as long as this forum exists and I am happy I made it

A Thought on: How I rediscovered all of my talents -What you need to know to be productive

We go again

This is one of those things that if you read it, you’ll get it right away. If not I would have to spend two years mentoring you into understanding this statement.

you were born with the rudiment of all things in this world

I remember when I was told this, it was just the headline & it bode well for me, I was a simple animation student and this understanding transformed me into a multimedia fanatic; all I do is learn all things media and creative for multiple reason now; this was just the start of it.

Some people tell me I’m a genius because I understand Design Engineering, Thermodynamics, economics, philosophy and politics. I remember all my late nights book reading and studying on all these topics; so I can’t tell you what the truth is. What I do know is I can recall a great deal of this information and mesh the ideas into my favourite modes of study.

I studied animation so we learned multiple subjects and not just from the realm of design but psychology, storytelling, meaning, advertising, art history and how it relates to a working to industry standards; my course was just packed with all the essentials and fundamentals of all things relating to making good-classic content & if you saw that you won.

This is about the rudiment though all children are born with the rudiments depending on culture children will act out the memes and iconic stories of their home state to better understand their role and ideas are imprinted into them, consequently they drop or forget what it is to act outside their position; even further back children will Babel every phonemes in speech, yes every human is born with the rudiment to sound all languages; once they’re grown to speak they lose such abilities and keep all the relevant ones to their languages, who would have thought baby babel is real babel.

Many people have been told what they can and can’t get up to, some people believed those that told them that. A common strand I’ve seen in creatives is we ask questions and a common practice I’ve seen in entrepreneurs they didn’t believe anyone a common practice I’ve seen in geniuses they believed the were always right… These people were the defiant ones, disagreeable to the norm and conscious to own vision, the disruptors and the thinkers these people are usually the builders of economy.

Adopting any of those practices to question what you’ve been told, mores to question what you believed from what you were told. This will bode well for all, there’s a whole reconciliation process with understanding every lesson you were taught to aid you and not hinder you. However just before that there’s really one thing you have to be sure to know. Your skill level and threshold for greatness.

When I was younger I had to discover my limits, finding out there are only the limits you put on yourself I made sure I learned all I needed to, relevant and qualified subjects for that goal. Learning because you can because you’re young, because you’re you; because you’re great is a worthy ideal the nonstop growth and contest with your own self is.

Whether you find something new about yourself and shift your thinking; discover things you never knew you could do all steel your resolve to whatever you believed to be true with no distractions or what ifs.

what will it be?

An Intro Matthew Alyx William – The man behind the LA company creating my favourite accessories. (Chest Rig and Buckle)

We Go Again.

Matthew Williams named his company after his son Alyx, which doesn’t make you swoon if you are a lover of tech this will.

He made the OG Chest Rig Bag. To me, he is the one and only progenitor of great design and has a solid industrial mind. The chest Rig isn’t only my favourite item to wear it is the favourite thing I’ve owned in the past so long, I never knew I needed it till I had it.

The size of an iPad (about 12″) the chest Rig fits my sketchbook iPad and charger so it’s volumetric also. It’s a cornerstone of my outfits and industrial wear, although it’s still new the industrial part of fashion is coming in slowly putting utility and design at the forefront.

You see Alyx trying so many new and amazing things on the wear along with their vibram collaboration Alyx have also teamed with Nike and Dior; I would love to see them collaborate with gore-tex and Male something out of the norm.

The most significant item being the buckle, going for upwards of £200 it really making its mark on the fashion lovers the leader of the industrial market; My home. Alyx is among the likes of A Cold Wall and Acronym — The triple A’s make the futurist industrial design and utilitarian look go far.

Matthew is doing good works for reinventing the buckle in such an industrious way and I just wanted to not someone whom I deem as doing real artist work really fusing the two.
