These Jordan’s are possibly my favourite collaboration to be released since the classic colour-ways.
Looking at Nigel Sylvester a normal righteous guy who rides BMX and became a beacon for not only people in New York and his home borough but a beacon for black boys everywhere not wanting to do the same sports route and go into extreme sports. Along with that, possibly being the best to have played the sport.
His role is key legacy cemented now sneaker memorialised the times of greatness. That is his Jordan 1.
What else could one have asked for.
These need to be on my feet.
The unrefined unfinished look is the best I’ve seen of this type, saying ‘don’t be afraid to get me messed up’. Just knowing you can base out these trainers make them worthwhile.
This is what I mean by creps telling a story because those strategic scuff marks are not unlike the ones you would get from riding a BMX, it’s the little things that make the difference.
Its all in the name and as you can see there’s so much going on here in terms of texture construction tooling and cobbling. Which is why I picked this shoe
Kai Otoko is new to me but it’s not stopping me highlighting another sneaker designer, he seems really into shapes and angles from the offset and bringing out the most you can get out of every piece of the skin.
Considering this is a leather sneaker the approach to this has to be careful and meticulous in order to not waste and make this look high fashion, simply the upper leather looks supple and not easy to clean but comfortable to have on.
As for the sole I can’t speak on the Inside it really needs a deeper look. But the mid is firm geometric and composed while still keeping the silhouette simple and put together, the high gloss finish helps too
I see if people are in the know these would be a solid alternative to Balenciagas or Valentino’s depending on price point. It’s just a really good looking sneaker, we are from the same school of texture aesthetic maximal form silhouette design so I appreciate these on a different level.
I shared my side eye at the 270 from my first glance, I couldn’t deal with the marketing and reposting flooding my screen, however I loved all the Collabs with the 270, the ISPA 270 particularly as well as the 270 utility as we all know I love functionality or things that look functional
These summit white reacts with 270 bubble they look ridiculously beautiful, I genuinely want a pair, not only are 270’s super comfortable but the React foam is also so the combination along with the summit white with blue accents tear me up inside because I genuinely need them.
Whoever done this combination and creative/art direction deserves an award of some sort because everything makes sense from the detailing in the embossed sole to the grooves in the upper.
